April 2025, Guest Designer!

Welcome Christina Hadderingh of @aspoonfulofyarn as our April Guest Designer!

A master of Texture and Storytelling

I first discovered Christina on Instagram when I came across her Hotel of Bees Shawl, and I was instantly captivated. Since then, her stunning designs have continued to leave me speechless. What I love most about Christina’s shawls is how she masterfully weaves together textures, lace, shapes, and colors—creating pieces that feel intricate yet perfectly balanced. Her work is a true testament to her genius as a designer.

This month, I’m beyond excited to feature Christina as our Designer of the Month and introduce you to Migrations Shawl, her exclusive design for Plyful. I have no doubt you’ll fall in love with it just as I have!

Hi! I am Christina and I live in a little town in the Netherlands with my husband and our little boy Daan. I started crocheting in 2010 and I cannot imagine my life without this wonderfully relaxing craft anymore.

I like to focus my creativity on my own crochet designs. Shawls and sweaters are my favorite to work on. Inspiration is all around us and I find mine in books, music, films and nature. This reflects on everything I make. With my designs I want to take you with me through a story. With a hook in hand daydreaming a bit about forests, ancient hotels, clouds or sunny blossoming fields, that is what I like to do. To turn those everyday things into something special.

Next to crochet designer, I am also a crochet design coach under the name Christina Crochet Coach. I help (aspiring) crochet designers create unique crochet designs.
