The Confetti Pullover is a celebration of childhood and color. It features a fading of color that resemble confetti falling.

It is a compound raglan yoke sweater worked seamlessly, mostly in rounds. The stitch used throughout makes the fabric warm, yet very light – you can even use cotton yarn for a Spring sweater. The pattern comes with a suggested color transition of 5 different colors, but you can use as many colors as you want. Perfect for using up your yarn stash!

Materials

YARN: DK weight yarn (size 3 – according to CYC Standards) divided into as many different colors as desired (use the color guide spreadsheet to help you determine how much yarn will be required per color).

For a cropped jumper

Approx. 830 (930, 1010, 1130, 1215) (1320, 1420, 1560, 1630) m / 905 (1010, 1105, 1235, 1325) (1445, 1550, 1705, 1780) yds

Approx. 5 (5, 6, 6, 7) (7, 8, 8, 9) skeins of Hedgehog Fibers, Merino DK (or any other DK weight yarn with 200 m per 100g skeins) are needed.

For a full-length jumper:

Approx. 990 (1110, 1220, 1355, 1455) (1585, 1710, 1865, 1950) m / 1080 (1210, 1330, 1480, 1590) (1730, 1870, 2040, 2135) yds

Approx. 6 (6, 7, 7, 8) (9, 9, 10, 10) skeins of Hedgehog Fibers, Merino DK (or any other DK weight yarn with 200 m per 100g skeins) are needed.

Amounts given are approximates and it’s always recommended to buy a little extra yarn to make up the difference.

YARN used in the newest Sample: Hedgehog Fibres, Merino DK (100% Superwash Merino Wool, 100 g / 200 m) in custom dye colors in order from top-bottom: A) Moonstone, B) Sugar, C) Lavender Fields, D) Sunshower, E) Seahorse, F) Celestial

As a reference, the sample used 6 different skeins for size 4 cropped and each had between 3 – 17 g left over at the end.

HOOKS: 4.5 mm or size needed to meet gauge.

NOTIONS: tapestry needle and 5 markers (or 5 strands of scrap yarn).

Alternative Yarns

Any DK weight yarn will work, but here are some I would recommend:

Gauge

19 sts x 18 rows = 10 cm x 10 cm worked in Linen st in rounds with 4.5 mm hook (after blocking).

Stitch Patt for gauge: Linen stitch (each chsp counts as 1 st)

Ch 33.

ROW 1: Starting in 2nd ch from hook, sc1 to end of the row. [32 sts]

ROW 2: Ch1, sc1 in first st, (sc1 in next st, ch1, sk1st) rep to second to last st, sc1 in last st. [32 sts – chs in Linen st count as sts]

ROW 3: Ch1, sc1 in first st, (ch1, sk1st, sc1 in next chsp) rep to last 2 sts, ch1, sk1st, sc1 in last st.

ROW 4: Ch1, sc1 in first st, (sc1 in next chsp, ch1, sk1st) rep to last st, sc1 in last st.

Repeat Rows 3 – 4 for at least a total of 27 rows.

Block and measure in the middle of swatch.

Changes in the newest version (Confetti DK 2.0 – released on Jan 1st, 2025).

  • Yoke shaping has been improved for all sizes.

    115 g/ 230 m (252 yds)) in colors A) Waterlilies, B)Life Aquatic, C) Glacier and D) Cassiopeia and a 6 mm hook.

Confetti Pullover

Description

My first Nomad Stitches make. It gave me so much grief at the beginning. I did, as suggested on the sizing, a size5. Got as far as halfway down the sleeves and 3/4 down the body. That was after frogging half of the yoke x2 and the top of sleeves once. I finally got the sizing of the body just the way I wanted it by doing sc2tog as suggested. However, the yoke was wayyyy too big. I just decided to frog the whole thing and after contemplation and re-reading the pattern and writing on my notes, I decided to restart, size 4. I painstakingly countedthe stitch numbers for every row. I know, so tedious, but I was determined to make myself a Confetti DK pullover that fits me the way I want it to fit. Made bell sleeves, I saw Chandi made on so I tried it. And I loved it! I want to make a short sleeves someday. Pic 1, before blocking Pic 2, after blocking
