I am so excited to introduce you and to get to know our guest designer for May – Anna Erlandsson

Anna is a true force in contemporary crochet. With more than 50 published patterns and collaborations with renowned names like Laine Publishing and Järbo, she has become a respected and influential voice in modern garment design. Her work beautifully balances style and function, proving that crochet can be refined, wearable, and effortlessly current.

What makes this month especially exciting is the opportunity to go beyond the patterns and get to know the person behind them. We’ll be diving into Anna’s journey from lifelong maker to dedicated designer, her philosophy of designing with function in mind, and her mission to redefine how we see crochet today. I’m particularly looking forward to exploring how she balances her creative career with her work in tech — and how that analytical mindset might shape her design process.

Anna’s perspective is thoughtful, grounded, and refreshingly modern. She represents a movement in crochet that is shifting the narrative — away from stereotypes and toward versatility, craftsmanship, and everyday wearability.

This month is about contemporary crochet at its finest: clean lines, natural fibres, intentional design, and garments made to be lived in. We are absolutely thrilled to have Anna with us, and I cannot wait for you to get to know her better.
