Ashley Rivas is the creative force behind Tiny Couch Crochet, known for her modern, wearable crochet patterns that blend clean design with rich texture. A self-taught maker who returned to crochet during a difficult period in her life, she channels that experience into approachable, size-inclusive garments—often with a signature Tunisian crochet twist—that feel as good to make as they do to wear.

“I’m the designer behind Tiny Couch Crochet, a modern crochet brand where I create wearable crochet and Tunisian crochet patterns. My designs focus on those finishing details that really elevate a handmade garment.

I come from a background in structural engineering and have had a lifelong love of the arts. To me, crochet pattern design is the perfect marriage of art and engineering, and I’m always up for a creative challenge. Alongside my independently released patterns, I’ve designed for yarn brands like WeCrochet and authored Tunisian Crochet Tops, released at the end of 2025.

I live in California with my husband, son, and two pups. When I’m not spending time with family or designing, you’ll usually find me reading, baking, or diving into a new art or craft.”
