Heyday is named for that golden moment when everything feels bright and beautiful — a time of joy, ease, and flourishing.

This spring cardigan captures that feeling in yarn form: light yet cozy, relaxed yet flattering. The easy drape, soft batwing sleeves, and flowing lace create a piece that feels effortless to wear and satisfying to make. Heyday is an invitation to slow down, notice the beauty in the details, and enjoy your own creative moment in the sun.

Hooks

• 4.5 mm Tunisian crochet hook, or size needed to meet gauge, using a 60 – 100 cm cable for the body.
• 3.5 mm traditional crochet hook for edgings.

Notions

Yarn used in the sample:

Eden Cottage Yarns, Keld Fingering (90% Superwash Merino Wool, 10% Linen, 100g, 360 m / 393 yds) in colorway Tide.  Approx 5 (5, 5, 6, 6) (7, 7, 7) balls of Keld Fingering will be needed.

Alternative Yarns

Any fingering weight yarn will work – keep in mind that yarn content will affect drape and warmth levels.

gauge

17 sts x 20 rows = 10 cm / 4in
In lace pattern worked flat after blocking

Swatch Instructions

One diamond lace pattern repeat (10 sts x 20 rows) = 5.9 x 10 cm / 2 ¼ x 4 in.

Follow Lace gauge instructions in pattern.

Be sure to block and check gauge before starting by making a big enough gauge swatch (at least 15 x 15 cm / 6 x 6 in).

Certain materials might sag, and fabric may extend too much with drape, so adjust hook size appropriately.
