This pattern comes in 6 different sizes. The instructions for each size are color coded and in the order shown here: Baby (Toddler, Child, Teen, Adult M, Adult L). To avoid confusion, it’s recommended to circle or highlight the instructions that match your size in printed versions.
These are the approximate measurements of the finished item:
For head circumference of 44.5 (47, 50.8, 54.5, 58.5, 61) cm / 17.5 (18.5, 20, 21.5, 23, 24) in.
Hat circumference: 37.5 (40, 43.8, 47.5, 51.5, 54) cm / 14.75 (15.75, 17.25, 18.75, 20.25, 21.25) in.
*to be worn with 6 – 8 cm of negative ease
Length w/o folded brim:14 (16, 18, 20, 22, 24) cm / 5.5 (6.25, 7, 8, 8.75, 9.5) inches.
Length w/folded brim:20 (23, 26, 28, 30, 32) cm / 8 (9, 10.25, 11, 11.75, 12.5) inches.
Toffee Sample is Size Adult MÂ w/folded brim, Oyster sample is Toddler size w/folded brim; and Port Sample is Adult L without folded brim
Materials
YARN: Worsted weight yarn (size 4), approximately 100 (120, 140, 160, 180, 200) m.
Sample used Sirdar, Country Classic Worsted (50% Wool, 50% Acrylic; 100 g / 200 m (218 yds)), in Oyster (pink), Toffee (Brown) and Port (Red).
HOOKS:Â 6 mm or size needed to meet gauge.
NOTIONS:Â 1 stitch marker (or loose strand of yarn) and a tapestry needle.
Alternative Yarns
Any worsted weight yarn will work, but here are some I recommend:
